She is a member of The Artists Gallery (TAG) and has been a member of many arts groups in Frederick including The Frederick Art Club. She taught art in Harpers Ferry and in Frederick public schools. Her oil paintings reflect a love of paint and the act of painting by expressing the fluidity of the medium and the joy of color.

After one oil painting class in 1964, she dabbled for a while. When she retired as professor of chemistry at Hood College in 2005, she resumed painting and took oil painting classes at the Delaplaine Arts Center. Since then she has enjoyed more classes, participates in the Frederick Art Club and Frederick County Art Association, and has shown at the Delaplaine, Urbana Regional Library, Blanche Ames Gallery, Weinberg, and more. |
