Field Trips

As a club member, you can enjoy field trips each fall and spring that are always informative and fun. It’s a great way to visit museums and other artistic places of interest, plus coach travel makes it comfortable, and tickets are reasonably priced.  Here are some of the trips we’ve taken:

The New Barnes Foundation Museum, Philadelphia

The Philadelphia Museum of the Arts, Philadelphia

The Phillips Gallery, Washington, DC
Winterthur Museum, Delaware
National Museum of American Art, Washington, DC
Renwick Gallery, Washington, DC
American Visionary Museum, Baltimore
Hillwood Mansion and Gardens, Washington, DC.
National Museum of African American Culture and      Arts, Washington, DC

SPRING TRIP - April, 2019:

Glenstone Private Gallery, Potomac, MD

Tour an iconic private place that seamlessly integrates art, architecture and landscape into a serene and contemplative environment.  Travel by coach and enjoy lunch after the visit.

Happy Hours

We usually get together once a month at Cacique Restaurant in downtown Frederick where the margaritas flow along with great conversation that give us a chance to get to know each other even better.

Movie Nights in Members' Homes

Members host a movie afternoon or evening where we enjoy a popular film based on artists' lives or with an artful theme.  Wine is usually involved!

Getting Together for Lunch or Dinner

Sometimes getting together for an impromptu lunch or dinner is just the thing for us to have more opportunities to enjoy each other's company.

Travels With Jo Butler

Lovely afternoon at Jo Butler’s house sharing her photos from the amazing bucket list trip she and her husband Kebret took to Dubai, Australia, and New Zealand.  Upon their return to the U.S., they traveled to Alabama's Civil Right's Museum Trail, including museums, bridges, churches and other powerful  profound sites in America’s Civil Rights movement.
