Members Gallery

Although there's no requirement that club members be artists, many are professional artists and others pursue art as an avocation. They work in a wide variety of media, exhibit and sell their work at galleries and shops, compete for honors, and follow their passion for art wherever it takes them. Learn about some of these members in the gallery below and take a peek at samples from their portfolios. [Note to members: To be featured here, please email maritasloose@gmail.com a brief self-profile and attach jpgs of 2-3 samples of your work.}

A Virtual Exhibit of Art "Inspired by Claire"

When the pandemic ended plans to show member artists' works--all inspired by Claire--at a gallery show in spring 2020, we moved quickly to Plan B: A virtual exhibit complete with interviews of ten artists and peeks inside their studios. Here's the result. We're guessing you'll find it even richer and more informative than a typical gallery show!

Colleen Clapp

Colleen Clapp

A painter of abstracts, I think of myself as an ‘experimental expressionist’. Rich texture and muted colors often appear in my paintings. The word “ meditative” was once used to discribe my recent work. My most successful paintings are those which entice the viewer to slow down, relax and take the time to wander through. http://www.beckielaughlin.com

Abstract Expressionist. Inspiration comes from a variety of places: nature, family photos, my inner journey and a passion for spontaneity. Vibrant color, abstract shapes and a desire to explore who I am, inspire me to move the brush with exuberance and flair. The longing for artistic authenticity is what nudges me to cultivate my craft and discover my unique place in the art world. I'm currently working in cold wax and oil and acrylic and mixed media.
