Kirilloff Design has created interpretive wayside exhibits for many of our country’s national parks and other prominent historical and cultural sites. Under the artistic lead of Irene Kirilloff, the studio will design and fabricate a wayside exhibit to accompany the sculpture that will tell the story of Claire McCardell’s extraordinary career.

​Join us for an exciting evening celebrating the life and legacy of fashion pioneer and Frederick native Claire McCardell.
Author Elizabeth Evitts Dickinson will sign copies of her newly released book, Claire McCardell: The Designer Who Set Women Free, and share insights about McCardell's life and career.

Admission is $38, which includes an autographed copy of the book along with a reception featuring Claire's favorite treat—angel food cake. Proceeds will benefit the club's art scholarship fund.

About the Author
Elizabeth Evitts Dickinson is an acclaimed journalist and author whose writing has appeared in The New York Times, Harper’s, The New Yorker, The Southern Review, and The Washington Post Magazine, among other publications. A National Endowment for the Arts Creative Writing Fellow, she has earned many prestigious awards and wide recognition for her work. She lives in Baltimore with her husband and daughter.

The Frederick Art Club has enjoyed a special connection with Elizabeth ever since she appeared prominently in our film launching The Claire McCardell Project, a hugely successful undertaking to create a larger-than-life bronze sculpture that pays homage to the designer in her hometown.
