It was 4:30 on Friday, August 28, and the happening place for TFAC members to be was in front of a monitor of any size, beverage of one's choice in hand, "surrounded" by nine TFAC friends you haven't hung out with for ages. Our fearless prez Marilyn Bagel launched the first ZOOM TFAC happy hour with assistance from Trisha Valcarcel, an event director and Zoom pro at Allaur Creative Services. Several members had never Zoomed before and reported that signing in really wasn't all that difficult!
For the occasion, our monitors were filled with little face-filled frames, not unlike on the old game show "The Hollywood Squares."
It would have been a hoot to have a star like Joan Rivers, Zsa Zsa Gabor or Rose Marie in one of the squares. But it was still so much fun that we're doing it again--only next time we'll be holding an official TFAC meeting. Mark your calendar for noon on September 10. Details coming soon!
In the meantime, here's Marilyn's recipe for a popular happy hour cocktail:
MOSCOW MULE
3 ounces vodka
1 ounce fresh lime juice
Up to 9 ounces ginger beer, depending on the size of your cup or glass (NOTE: Ginger beer is a heartier ginger ale and is non-alcoholic)
Pour lime juice in glass. Fill with ice and pour in vodka. Top off with ginger beer, stir and enjoy.
(In restaurants, Moscow Mules are usually served in copper cups.)
